The beauty and depth of the finished print should not to be underestimated. The ease and speed at which images are passed around and viewed digitally, has encouraged the perception of them to be undervalued, both in quality, and the time and appreciation we give them.
This further, I would add, takes away our enjoyment of them, by degree. Given all the advantages of the internet, I still believe It has become a situation of depreciation rather than appreciation. Wall art can bring back that appreciation.
It is after all, what we as photographers and artists, strive for as our end goal.
When you purchase a print you are not getting a poster from ikea, which has had a run of several hundred thousand. You are getting an individual finely crafted print on beautiful archival papers, printed with archival inks. These give you art that will last a lifetime, kept out of direct sunlight in typical conditions. Professional DSLR cameras give a detail and scale that cannot be understood on a monitor.
Digital Printing can be a complex and tricky business, with profiles for papers , printers and computer monitors having to be congruent. There is a sensitivity involved in colour and tone that needs to compliment the image rather than take something away from it.
Our prints are created in house, crucially leaving the artist in control of this process.
